New °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ hospital seen as a 'place of firsts' in treatment, training and research
°®ÎÛ´«Ã½â€™s new $472 million Multispecialty and Research Hospital aims to be a hub for groundbreaking medical treatment, research and training. With 144 beds, the hospital will focus on advanced cancer care, including clinical trials, CAR-T cell therapy and stem-cell treatments. It will also specialize in complex surgeries, preventive care and outreach for high-risk populations. Connected to the Mays Cancer Center by the Tom C. Frost Skybridge, this facility embodies a patient-centered design with natural light and family support spaces. Launching in stages, the hospital will provide opportunities for medical trainees and support °®ÎÛ´«Ã½â€™s upcoming merger with UTSA to form a premier global research institution.
